An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) is an integrated, international study programme, jointly delivered by a transnational consortium of higher education institutions. The partnership may also include other educational and/or non-educational partners with specific expertise in the study areas offered by the joint programme. The consortium is able to award double, multiple or joint Masters degrees. The special nature of the partnership lies in the  unique study programme which the cooperation is able to offer.

Project Goals

The activities are intended to:

  • encourage the mobility (long-term and short-term) of students and staff
  • attract the best talents from around the world, through competitive scholarships in Europe
  • foster innovation, excellence and internationalisation in European Higher Education
  • promote the cooperation of European universities, as well as other educational organisations and placement providers.
  • improve the level of the skills and competences of Master graduates and their employability in the international labour market



  • Consortium: HEIs from at least 3 different Programme Countries. Other organisations, such as enterprises, public bodies, NGOs and research institutes from Programme Countries or Partner countries
  • Duration: 24 and 36 months
  • Award Amount :€ 3 - 4 Million
  • Call for proposals: from approx. 24.Okt. 2019 - 05 Feb. 2020 at 12:00 Brussels time (for projects starting 01. Aug. 2020 & 31.Oct.2020)
