Short summary The lecture provides an introduction to market microstructure of foreign exchange trading. The role of order flow and inventory risk management is analyzed in a theoretical and an empirical framework. In addition, the trading perspectives of importers/exporters, international investors, and policy makers are discussed by deriving and empirically testing equilibrium relationships in foreign exchange markets.
