Guest house at Düsternbrooker Weg

The Guesthouse for international scientists and academics was the first Guest House of Kiel University built in 1974 on a beautiful estate in the wooded Düsternbrook neighbourhood, directly on the fjord. In 2008, an extension was built on the huge lawn of the Guest House. Both houses are located between the fjord and a lush, green forest, with an outdoor courtyard in the middle inviting guests to meet and relax. Most apartments have an amazing view of the fjord. The Kiel Institute of World Economy and the University Hospital of Schleswig-Holstein are in the immediate vicinity, and, just a short walk away, “Seebad Düsterbrook” offers the chance to swim in the fjord during the summer months. The promenade along the bank of the fjord lies right in the front of the complex, suggesting a leisurely, refreshing walk at any time of the year. The Guest House has access to Kiel´s public transportation, which takes you quickly to the university or the centre of the city.
