KNOWLEDGE ALLIANCES

Knowledge Alliances are transnational, mutually beneficial projects between higher education and business. The aim is to strengthen Europe's innovation capacity; support the modernisation of Europe's higher education system; and foster innovation in higher education, business and the broader socio-economic environment.

Types of Alliances

They:

  • facilitate the flow and exchange of knowledge between higher education and enterprises
  • develop new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning
  • promote the entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills of students, higher education teaching staff and company staff

 

Emphasis is placed on projects that make use of existing initiatives and support the effective use of digital media.

 

Examples:

  • Innovation in higher education and business - organising continuing educational programmes and activities with and within enterprises
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set– the creation of new learning opportunities through the practical application of entrepreneurial skills
  • Exchange of knowledge - the involvement of company staff in teaching and research

 

Conditions:

  • Consortium: minimum of six independent organisations (at least two institutions of higher education and at least two companies) from at least three programme countries. Alliances may include cooperation with partner countries and the mobility of students and staff, if there is added value)
  • Duration: 24 or 36 months
  • Award Amount: € 700.000 (two-year project) or € 1.000.000 (three-year project)
  • Call for proposals: from approx. 24.Okt. 2019 - 28 Feb. 2020 at 12:00 Brussels time (for projects starting 01. Nov. 2020 or 01. Jan. 2021)
