Short summary This component will hone and enlarge upon students’ vocabulary. Based on current English usage, selected lexical fields will be developed, focussing on collocation, connotation and register. Grammar, sentence structure and punctuation will be trained in order for students to be able to study and write various types of expository and argumentative texts (e.g. letters, essays, articles, and commentaries).

Course Content

Serves to promote language accuracy and fluency of expression as well as the development of everyday communication by means of practicing language structures.

Course aims

Students:

  • will be able to understand, describe and explain the most important aspects of English grammar.
  • will be able to recognize and correct grammar which does not reflect the norm.
  • will be able to structure their own thoughts in English using appropriate words in a clear and logical way.
