A confirmation of health insurance must be presented at registration.

If you are unable to travel to Germany this semester because your course of study is taking place online and you do not receive a visa to enter Germany, you have the option of obtaining confirmation from the BARMER health insurance company that you are not required to take out insurance for the duration of your stay in your home country. With this confirmation you do not have to pay any contributions as long as you are not yet in Germany.

Please send the request by email - together with a copy of your admission letter - to

BARMER health insurance www.barmer.de
Hannah-Yasmina Ferhat

hannah-yasmina.ferhat@barmer.de

BARMER will then automatically send us a copy of the confirmation.

Please note, however, that the insurance obligation begins upon entry into Germany and you will have to sign up with one statutory health insurance with arrival (either BARMER or another health insurance). You should therefore inform the health insurance company early enough when you plan to enter Germany.
